Becoming a member of The Admiral's Legacy

Become a member of the AYA Cancer Alliance Admiral's Legacy by planning a Legacy Gift to the ECCF/Reid R. Sacco AYA Cancer Fund, to support the work of the Reid R. Sacco Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Programs at Tufts Medical Center and/or Connecticut Children's Medical Center. This legacy gift can be made tot he Fund or to a specific Program - in your name or in that of a loved one - in one of the following ways:

Bequest: A bequest in your will or living trust is one of the simplest ways to make an estate gift in support of the Reid R. Sacco AYA Cancer Programs and Clinics in New England. A bequest allows you to retain assets you may need during your lifetime, while still giving you the opportunity to plan your charitable legacy. In addition, your estate is entitled to a charitable deduction for the bequest's full value. The language below can be shared with your attorney as an example of either a "Specific" or "Percentage" bequest; "Residuary" and "Contingent" bequests are also common.

"I bequest (describe the dollar amount or percent of estate) to the Essex County Community Foundation. This gift is to be added to the Reid R. Sacco AYA Cancer Fund, and used for grants to support the work of the Reid R. Sacco AYA Cancer Programs at Tufts Medical Center and/or the Connecticut Children's medical Center."

Retirement Assets: You can name the Fund, Tufts Medical Center, or Connecticut Children's Medical Center as beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Or, you can name the fund or one or more of these organizations as the beneficiary and owner of a policy as a current gift, which will provide you with an immediate charitable tax deduction.
